My Baking Mission

Last night, I went out with my closest female friends to celebrate my 39th birthday. Yes, I am officially 39 and 359 day left to 40. I admitted that I was freaking out but it was all okay. J teased me about my little panic attack of being 39 to 40 soon. Anyway, I got over it and determined to do something significant about this birthday year. My inspiration came to me last night by a movie "Julie and Julia"!!!! If Julie can go through a whole year cooking one cookbook by Julia Child so can I. Today, I went to my local bookstore and bought the "Tartine" baking book. I love the pastries from Tartine and I am always fascinated by how they can make the tastiest and fluffiest pastries. I am in a mission to bake my heart out this year.
When I turned 37, my sister-in-law bought me a stainless steel kitchen aid mixer. When I turned 38, I bought myself a home with a beautifully designed gourmet kitchen. Now I turned 39, my closest friends bought me cake pans and cupcake holders. For a while the universal was hinting me that I should bake but I never pick it up. After watching "Julie and Julia", an epiphany came to me that I must let my passion of baking come to surface. No more sitting around to ponder about being a pastry chef, baking that red velvet cake, watching Ace of cakes and dreaming what if. Just do it! Just leap for it! Just bake that damn cake! There is no fear of failures but wonderful baking recipes to explore.
